With the Philadelphia Phillies just one win away from a World Series Championship and staff ace/wonderboy Cole Hamels on the mound tonight, the city of Brotherly Love is the on the verge of exploding. This is a city that hates its teams when they play poorly (read: all the time) but knows how to celebrateriot when they win. Tonight, the town is ready to flat-out go off.
At the middle of the insanity will be the overwhelmed, undermanned Philadelphia police force. Good luck keeping order tonight, fellas. Pure chaos is very likely the best you can hope for. We don’t even want to consider the worst, but New York City might not be far enough away to keep us safe. But for anyone who gets out with his or her uniform intact, we’ll have a beer waiting on the other side. It’s much sweeter after a World Series victory.
