Draft Magazine Feed: We’re buying a beer for… Ben Silverman
Last May, NBC hired the golden boy, responsible for hits such as The Office and Ugly Betty, to be co-chair its Entertainment and Universal TV divisions. He was responsible for dragging the formerly unstoppable network — remember the golden days of Friends and Seinfeld on Must See TV Thursday — out of fourth place. So far, Silverman has underwhelmed, missing the mark with Knight Rider and a host of other expensive shows. He has, however, partied his way through the TV world, enough to put his job in jeopardy.
Given that, perhaps the last thing he needs is a beer. But Ben, buddy, it wouldn’t surprise us if you were out of a job soon, no matter what NBC prez Jeff Zucker says. Money talks, and you’re losing it hand over fist. (Also, you brought those infernal chimes back to NBC. Bad move.)
