A phone rings.<\/i><\/p>\n

“Did you hear the news?”<\/p>\n

“No, Chris… what?”<\/p>\n

“Hot Shotz burned down last night.”<\/p>\n

“Oh come on.”<\/p>\n

“…”<\/p>\n

“You’re serious?”<\/p>\n

“Yeah, Bob Mack called me this morning.”<\/p>\n

“Okaaaay…. see you there.”<\/p>\n

“I’m at the storage shed, we’ll be there shortly.”<\/p>\n

11:40 AM, Outlots of the burned out Hot Shotz, 96th and Gray Road<\/b><\/p>\n

A few Knights of the Beer Roundtable stand under a tent, setting up tables.<\/i><\/p>\n

“Go figure he tells us to get here at 11 and Chris isn’t here yet.”<\/p>\n

I dial Chris up on his phone.<\/i><\/p>\n

“Hey, I’ve got some good news.”<\/p>\n

“What?”<\/p>\n

“I just saved a bunch of money on car insurance. Where are you?”<\/p>\n

“I’ll be there in a minute.”<\/p>\n

“I’m getting lunch.”<\/p>\n

3:00 PM<\/b><\/p>\n

Six men are standing in a circle, holding vinyl signs, some rope, duct tape, and a knife<\/i><\/p>\n

“I think we can just tape it to the rope.”<\/p>\n

3:30 PM<\/b><\/p>\n

“Our power just went out.” <\/p>\n

“Maybe we shouldn’t have everything plugged in right next to the water spout?”<\/p>\n

4:00 PM<\/b><\/p>\n

“Now what?”<\/p>\n

“I’m drinking.”<\/p>\n

6:00 PM<\/b><\/p>\n

“Buy a raffle ticket. That bottle of beer is like $70 on Ebay. But if you sell it there I’m going to kill you.”<\/p>\n

“…”<\/p>\n

7:00 PM<\/b><\/p>\n

“Chris, I’m surprised you were able to pull off this many brewers this late. Especially with Brew Ha Ha last week…”<\/p>\n

“Well, I dropped Hoosier Beer Geek a lot. I think that helped.”<\/p>\n

“Well I hope they’re happy..”<\/p>\n

8:30 PM<\/b><\/p>\n

“Can I have some of that beer?”<\/p>\n

“You know what? We’ve been closed for a half hour, you won a trip to Great American Beer Fest… I think you did well enough today. We’re done serving.”<\/p>\n

“Ok, I’ll just drink the bottle in my pocket.”<\/p>\n

8:35 PM<\/b><\/p>\n

“Gina’s fun.”<\/p>\n

“You don’t have to go home with her.”<\/p>\n

8:45 PM<\/b><\/p>\n

“Chris, you need anything?”<\/p>\n

“I think we’re good.”<\/p>\n

“Bye.”<\/p>\n

8:46 PM<\/b><\/p>\n

“Look Gina, there’s a Ferrari parked behind us.”<\/p>\n

“Cool.”<\/p>\n

“I think I’d trade you for a Ferrari.”<\/p>\n

I was lazy all day Sunday, so pictures we’ll have pictures here tomorrow. Bob Ostrander from Indiana Beer has a few<\/a>, including some of the fire damage at Hot Shotz.<\/p>\n
