The current closure rate is 33 per cent up on 2007.  A total of 1,409 pubs closed for the last time during 2007. <\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>From the same issue:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>While we should be pleased that real ale is declining slower than the rest of the beer sector as a whole, it is still in decline \u2014 which is something which should still concern us.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Across the pond, we here in the US have a wealth of beers available to us, from across the nation and around the world. Enjoy this bounty of good beer. <\/p>\n<p>But ultimately: drink local, drink fresh. Local beer \u2014all things being done well\u2014 will be the freshest beer you can obtain. So, support your local brewery: it&#8217;s a small business in your community.
