The train left at 9:42 this morning, a little earlier than most days this week.<\/p>\n

Basel SBB is an old-school train station<\/p>\n

I wanted to get an early start at TurbinenBr\u00e4u<\/a>, because they close at 2:30 in the afternoon. I got there just after they opened at 11:00.<\/p>\n

TurbinenBr\u00e4u, Z\u00fcrich, Switzerland (poorly stitched)<\/p>\n

The beer garden, restaurant, and bar TurbinenHalle is in the alley east of the brewery building<\/p>\n

The brewhouse at TurbinenBr\u00e4u is rather more automated than mine<\/p>\n

Things are expensive in Z\u00fcrich. These four beers alone \u2014 0.3 liters each \u2014 totalled CHF 19.80 ($17.50):<\/p>\n

If the Start<\/a> hadn’t been so fizzy and filling, I would have had another Sprint<\/a>, but a big plate of Teigwaren<\/a> mit Kalbfleisch<\/a><\/i> for lunch was all I needed. That, and a double espresso for the walk back to the train station.<\/p>\n

The train back to Basel passed the spectacular Feldschl\u00f6sschen<\/a> brewery in Rheinfelden.<\/p>\n

Tours there require advance reservations, so maybe I’ll check them out next time.<\/p>\n
